The Political Power of the Union | Radboud Current Affairs Podcast with social scientist Alex Lehr

Listen to this Dutch Radboud Current Affairs podcast, in which philosopher and programme manager Bas van Woerkum-Rooker talks with social scientist Alex Lehr about the political power of unions.

Podcast

Politics is actually about the distribution of resources. About who gets what. The unions are very important at that point.

Trade unions have a lot of political power, but the legitimacy of that power does depend on members, says social scientist Alex Lehr. And that membership has been declining for years. How much influence do unions still have? Where does their political power actually lie? And how should they appeal to new members to maintain that power? Listen to this Radboud Current Affairs podcast, in which philosopher and programme manager Bas van Woerkum-Rooker talks with social scientist Alex Lehr about the political power of unions.

The podcast is in Dutch and is also available on Apple Podcast or Spotify.
