Who Wants to Live Forever? | Biologist Akiko Minoda | Infinity

21.55 - 22.15 hrs | Zuiderkapel | Friday 12  September 2025  | English spoken

As you get older, there is an increasingly high level of inflammation in your body. This makes our bodies more susceptible to diseases such as cancer and infections. It is not clear why there is more inflammation as we age. Aki Minoda is investigating exactly what happens in our cells as we age and how we can age more healthily. In theory, this could ultimately lead to eternal life, but is that something we should want?

This lecture is in English.
