The University Chaplaincy organises all kinds of activities and supports projects that contribute to good causes. Would you like to volunteer or organise an activity yourself? Check out the possibilities.
Cooking for Meet & Eat
For many years Meet & Eat has taken place every Wednesday evening in the University Chaplaincy. The evening involves cooking and eating together by and with students of various nationalities.
Meet and Eat is always looking for people who want to cook. Do you have a favourite dish or fantastic family recipe that you would like to share with all kinds of people and/or give them a taste of your culture? And do you like the challenge of cooking for up to 40 people (with help if needed, of course)? Then get in touch with us! Groceries will be reimbursed.

Help organise celebrations
The University Chaplaincy can always use extra help with the organisation of celebrations, such as the Taizé celebration on Wednesdays and the Sunday services.
Taizé celebration
Every week a group of students organize this celebration. They are inspired by the ecumenical monastic community of Taizé. You can help prepare the celebration by picking songs, meditative texts and prayers.
Time commitment: Depending on your abilities, it will take two to three hours per month, including the celebration itself and consultation. During vacation periods there is no celebration.
More information through Jos Geelen.
Sacristan
For the Sunday services we are regularly looking for a sacristan. You will be tasked with putting everything in order for the service and cleaning up afterwards. You also close the building when everyone has left. You will receive a small compensation for your services.
Time commitment: On average you will be in the University Chaplaincy from 10:30-13:00 each Sunday. Depending on the arrangements with other sextons, this can be once or twice a month.
More information through Marieke Fernhout.
Lector
As Lector you read the Bible texts during the celebration. You also prepare the table and help with the distribution of bread and wine.
Time commitment: once every four to six weeks you are present in the celebration from 10.30-12.00 am.
More information through Marieke Fernhout.
