Where?

Take part in bommen (moving to music) through Radboud Sport & Cultuur, the way to improve your fitness. The groups are not too large, so there is room and time for personal attention.

Contribution

The contribution for members of PV Radboud has been set at 90 euros per year for 2024. For non-members, the membership fee is 115 euros per year.

PV Billiard Club 'Het Kasteeltje' is a small, cozy club. In the basement of Huize Heyendael, the club has two billiard tables at its disposal. Cue are also available. It's a club for men and women!

When?

On weekdays you can play billiards daily from 10:00 - 23:00. There are no lessons, but the new members are taught the intricacies of billiards.

Special activities:

• Member competition from September to July, every Tuesday afternoon from 13:00 - 17:00 and Thursday evening from 20:00 - 23:00.
• Three-cushion competition on Wednesday evening.
• Club championships in October.
• Annual Christmas tournament in December.
• Pentecost tournament in own clubhouse Huize Heyendael.

Contribution

The annual contribution for members of PV Radboud has been set at 37 euros in 2024. Non-members pay 56 euros per year.

Bridge is for both members and non-members of the PV Radboud. Anyone who has some knowledge of the game is welcome.

When?

In odd weeks we play on Wednesday afternoons from 14:00 to 17:00 at the latest in Villa Oud Heyendael. Every now and then we explore a theme in depth, but playing always comes first.

In the months of June-August and December one or more of the afternoons may be cancelled, depending on attendance.

Competition

In principle, we play an internal competition every meeting, but relaxed and fun play is paramount. You don't necessarily have to sign up as a couple. If you indicate that you are still looking for someone, we will provide a bridge partner.

A contribution of 25 euros per year is requested from members of the PV and 50 euros from non-members, as compensation for coffee/tea and replacement of game materials.

Would you like to learn how to dive? Or maybe you have already obtained a license and want to keep your skills up to date? Then sign up for an introductory dive at Diving Club de Oost Nederlandse Duikers!

Oost Nederlandse Duikers has its permanent home on the Green Hills, including a clubhouse with shower, toilet, compressor and bar. During the winter season, you can practice in the Plons swimming pool in Beuningen.

Diving for everyone

As a PV member, you can dive at a discount. For a three-hour introductory dive, you pay 25 euros instead of 40 euros. Do you want to get certified? That is also possible: the Oost Nederlandse Duikers offer the following courses:

• The basic certification, Open Water Scuba Diver, is internationally recognized to a depth of 18 meters.
  Price for PV members 340 euros incl. 1 year membership (non-members 425 euros).
• The follow-up certification Advanced Scuba Diver, internationally recognized up to 40 meters depth.
  Price for PV members 245 euros incl. 1 year membership (non-members 325 euros).

Step into the vibrant world of photography at Flash in Villa Oud Heyendaal! Whether you're a seasoned amateur or just starting out in photography, you're more than welcome at Flash. Various courses and workshops for different levels are offered on a regular basis. In 2023, for example, club members worked on photo material in honor of Radboud University's 100th anniversary.

Photo studio

Within our beautiful location we also have a small studio at our disposal. This is mainly used for collaborative learning and experimentation. All the necessary equipment is at the disposal of our members, even outside the club nights. Our studio committee ensures that everything runs smoothly, but Flash is much more than just a studio facility. At Flash, involvement and active participation in club activities are key.

The price for PV members is 40 euros per calendar year. The price for non-members is 60 euros.

Running is done at HIT '91, which stands for Runners In Training 1991. We are a young and enthusiastic running club, under the umbrella of PV Radboud. We train under the guidance of qualified and experienced trainers.

For whom?

Within a running group, there are of course several levels and ambitions. At HIT '91 you will be assigned to a group of your own level. We try to tailor a program for everyone. Beginners can get acquainted with running and for advanced runners the opportunity is created to improve their performance level. At HIT '91 there is a relaxed atmosphere where nothing has to be done and almost everything is allowed!

When?

Every Monday from 17.00 - 18.30 from the canteen of the Brakkenstein athletics track (Heemraadstraat 3, 6525 TG Nijmegen). Depending on the season, we go into the woods at Heumensoord, train on the road or stay on the athletics track

Want to run with colleagues, but can't do it every week? Then you can also opt for a ten-ride card.

As a member of the PV you can join one of the two PV hockey teams that participate in a company hockey competition every season. On average, a match is played every two weeks with a mixed team.

Before and after the games, the clubhouse is open for coffee and tea and there is a drink afterwards. Not only the sport, but also fun is important. You get to know your colleagues in a relaxed and pleasant way.

There are two PV teams.

When?

The games will be played on Monday-evening and will start at 8:30 PM. The company hockey competition takes place at the NMHC complex, d'Almarasweg 37.

On Thursdays, Helma Jacobs teaches Seniorfit 60+ training at Radboud Sport & Culture. This activity is open to all PV members who want to work on their fitness. Experience is not required, but to perform the exercises you need to be fit, reasonably well-balanced and able to work independently.

When

Every week on Thursdays from 11.00-12.00 (Multi-hall 3) (except during holidays).

Contribution

The annual contribution (from January to December) for PV Radboud members is €95. For non-PV members, the annual contribution is € 120.

You can play table tennis at Table Tennis Association Radboud. Of the 23 members, 20 are active in the Nijmegen Business Table Tennis Federation (NBTF) competition. The training sessions are suitable for both beginners and advanced users.

What can you expect?

Table tennis Association Radboud trains weekly on Tuesday evenings between 20:00 and 21:30 in the Gymnasion in Multizaal 5.

In addition, league matches are played by five teams. Home games take place weekly on Friday evenings between 19:30 – 23:00. Home matches are played at the Gymnasion. Away games also take place on other evenings and at other locations in Nijmegen. 

There is an autumn competition from mid-September to the end of December and a spring competition from mid-January to the end of April.

Furthermore, Table Tennis Association Radboud organizes a fun Christmas tournament, a club championship and the Hellenkamp tournament, named after the founder of the association, every year. During this last tournament, players of different levels compete against each other and there is a scoring according to the 'handicap' system, in which the level of the participants is taken into account.

Play tennis at Radboud Tennis, which has about 45 members, a board and several committees.

The association organizes various tournaments, internal competitions and other activities throughout the year. In addition, members can use 12 artificial grass tennis courts of the Radboud Sports Centre (RSC) all year round.

When?

On Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings there is a club evening/morning with access to three artificial grass courts. Ideal for getting to know new members and hitting a nice ball!

No tennis experience yet?

For tennis lessons, we would like to refer you to Radboud Sport and Culture (RSC). Especially for beginners, there are plenty of opportunities to participate in lessons given for tennis trainers, affiliated with RSC.

You can play futsal at PV Radboud's futsal club, FC Radboud. FC Radboud trains every Tuesday from 5.30 pm to 6.30 pm in the Gymnasion (changing clothes in dressing room 7 on the ground floor in the Gymnasion). All members of FC Radboud are welcome!

Every year, FC Radboud closes the season with an internal tournament for all PV members.

Contribution

The contribution for members of PV Radboud has been set at 110 euros per year for 2024. For non-members, the membership fee is 140 euros per year.

Radboud University employees can pay the membership fee from their gross salary by including it in the flexible terms of employment (art, culture and sports allowance).

Radboud Sailing Club Voordewind is a branch of PV Radboud in which the pleasure of sailing is shared. From the beginning of April to the end of October, members and guest members of Radboud Sailing Club Voordewind can sail with one of the four open sailing boats.

Two boats are moored in the Hanzeland marina on the Gouden Ham near Maasbommel. Two other boats are moored in marina 't Loo on the Kraayenbergse plassen near Linden. 

New members must attend an introduction before they can rent boats from the association, among other things to test their sailing skills.

Every year, Radboud Sailing Club Voordewind organizes various events, such as a two-day tjalk trip, a Friesland weekend, a Friesland trek and cabin sailing on the IJsselmeer.

The contribution for members of PV Radboud is 90 euros per year. For non-members, the membership fee is 119 euros per year. This amount includes the rental of a boat, if sufficient sailing experience has been demonstrated.

Website Radboud Sailing Club Voordewind

Do you enjoy reading? If so, join the Radboud Seniors Reading Club. Throughout the year, six recent or historically significant books are selected. Each book is introduced by one of the participants, often using a discussion outline, followed by a discussion on its form and content.

Program Details

The meetings take place every two months on Tuesday mornings from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Villa Oud Heyendael.

On Thursdays, there is fitness training for seniors at the Radboud Sports Centre (RSC). Afterwards, we have coffee in the hall of the RSC.

The bicycle tours are an open activity for the entire PV Radboud and are organized by Radboud Seniors. These recreational rides, approximately 50 km (excluding the route to the starting point and the ride home from the endpoint), with an average speed of 15 km/h, usually take place in the area of Nijmegen and are organized by a few participants each time. Sometimes we depart by train or car from Nijmegen to cycle outside the region. 

Coffee and lunch breaks are scheduled during the ride. The tour concludes with a joint drink. 

Electric bikes are welcome, provided the rider adapts to the group’s speed. 

When 

Cycling takes place on Wednesdays every 3 weeks from March to October at 10:30 AM (with some exceptions).

No contribution is required by PV Radboud.

Jeu de boules is an open activity of PV Radboud, organized by Radboud Seniors. We play weekly at the Brakkenstein Sports Center of the Municipality of Nijmegen (Heemraadstraat 7) and have a cup of coffee afterward.

No contribution is required. 

Registration

This activity is open to all PV members. You can sign up by sending an email to the info [at] pvradboud.nl (PV Office), where you can also ask questions. Experience in playing jeu de boules is a plus but not necessary.

In Villa Oud-Heyendael, the Amsterdam version of Klaverjas is played by the Klaverjas club. Anyone with some knowledge of the game is warmly welcome.

Card games take place on Fridays during even weeks from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM. 

Contribution 

No contribution is requested by PV Radboud. 

Registration

PV Radboud offers short (7km) and sporty (12 to 15 km) walks. Breaks are taken when needed, and the walk usually ends with a drink. 

When 

Specific dates are circulated by email. 

• Short walk: monthly on Tuesdays (departure from various starting points)
• Sporty walk: monthly on Wednesdays (departure from various starting points) 

Contribution 

No contribution is requested by PV Radboud. For special trips (e.g., outside the region, with transport), a cost settlement is applied.

Would you like to join the Radboud Senior Choir, or would you like to come listen or participate just once? You are very welcome! Our repertoire is very diverse: songs by Dowland, Schubert, Brahms, but also from musicals; and of course folk songs from England, Scandinavia, South Africa, the United States, and the Netherlands. We perform approximately six times a year for nursing homes in Nijmegen and the surrounding area. 

When 

Rehearsals are every Thursday morning from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM

The fee is €15 per month.

Every month, you can participate in an interesting lecture at Villa Oud-Heyendael. These lectures, also called SOOS meetings, are held on Wednesdays from 10:00 am.

Traditionally, the Radboud Seniors organise a Christmas celebration every year. This meeting consists of a recital in Christmas atmosphere, a concert by the Radboud Senior Choir and a hot lunch afterwards. This meeting is open to all members. There is also limited space for non-members.

The Christmas celebration 2026 will be held on 16 December.
