Knowledge security, information security and privacy

The knowledge and data you work with every day are precious, so it’s vital you look after them carefully.

Information security:
a matter for all of us

Although people often say “I have nothing to hide”, everyone has data that should not be made public, such as personnel files or annual appraisal forms, and you wouldn’t want this data to end up on the street.

We have three disciplines that work together centrally to protect you and the university 24/7 from criminal activities by both preventing and combating them. But how you use digital facilities and handle (paper) documents and privacy sensitive information is at least as important. What’s more, you may also encounter knowledge security issues.

Want to know what you can do to work securely?

Knowledge security

Knowledge security concerns the undesired transfer of knowledge and technology, the covert influencing of education and research, and ethical issues.

If you have any questions about knowledge security, you can contact Radboud University’s Knowledge Security Advisory Team. The team provides advice, ensures alignment with other parts of the security policy, involves experts from other disciplines where necessary, and identifies risks and opportunities for international collaborations in research and education.
