Personalised Lesson Observation & Coaching

Do you wish to improve some aspects of your teaching? Would you like guidance on how to approach a specific educational context? Or are you simply interested in some fresh input on your teaching practice?

Get in touch for Personalised Lesson Observation and a no-strings-attached exchange with an educational coach from the Educational Advice & Teacher Development team. The coaching is free, tailored to your needs and the feedback is confidential. It is an easy way to get constructive input on your teaching practice and grow as an educational professional. Furthermore, time investment is minimal, as the observation takes place during a moment you are teaching anyway.

What others say about the exchange:

“It was actually really enjoyable to have someone observe my lesson. It wasn’t stressful at all—quite the opposite, it felt pleasant! The feedback was truly valuable, because as a teacher you rarely get the chance to reflect on your teaching from an outside perspective.”

Method

1. Send an email to max.moeskops [at] ru.nl (max[dot]moeskops[at]ru[dot]nl) in which you briefly explain your teaching context, desired moment of observation, and questions you have about your teaching.

2. Meet your coach online (30 minutes)
The educational coach will contact you for an online meeting. Together you'll discuss the points you wish the coach to focus on during the observation. This step helps create a clear scope for development and is also about getting to know each other.

3.  Have your teaching observed
The coach will attend your chosen teaching moment and observe with your focus points in mind.

4.  Receive written feedback
You’ll get a completed feedback form that highlights observations and insights.

5. Reflect and plan next steps (30 minutes)
You and your coach will meet again to discuss the feedback and explore options for your further development. Ideally this takes place directly or quickly after the observation.

The exchange can be used to demonstrate your educational development, for example in context of your annual review. The whole exchange is confidential, and the feedback form will not be archived after the process.
