SIG Open Education

Duration
2024 until now
Project type
Education

Do you want to know how you easily share open educational resources (OER) and what the benefits are? Are you looking for tips on finding and using high-quality OERs? Or are you curious about the experiences of colleagues who have already done this?

The Special Interest Group Open Education provides a platform for teachers to exchange knowledge and experiences about open education. We explore questions such as:

  • How do you find, use and share open educational resources?
  • Which licences are needed?
  • How do you build a subject community around open education?
  • What is involved in creating an open textbook, possibly together with students?

The SIG is intended for anyone interested in open educational resources, whether you already have experience or want to learn more about them. Together, we explore the opportunities and challenges!

Goals

  • Provide tools for finding, sharing and applying open education.
  • Collaborate on high-quality and accessible educational resources.
  • Build a network of instructors who exchange experiences.
  • Stimulate innovation, such as open textbooks and subject communities.

What is a Special Interest Group?

A Special Interest Group (SIG) consists of people who are united through their interest in an education-related topic. The Radboud Teaching and Learning Centre facilitates the SIG so they can research and delve deeper into the subject together.
