1,000th registration for the Constructive Dialogue training course

A special milestone: more than 1,000 employees have signed up for the Constructive Dialogue training course. This course helps you to engage in open and effective conversation in everyday work situations. You will also learn how to handle difficult conversations effectively and with greater confidence. The course has proved a success: employees are enthusiastic and rate the course 8.3* on average.

Why are employees so enthusiastic?

Participants describe the training as practical, accessible and immediately applicable. A few experiences:

A safe way to practise dealing with discomfort. I found it nerve-wracking, but it was precisely because of the training actor that I dared to say things I wouldn’t normally say. That gave me confidence. And what’s nice is: you don’t have to practise one-on-one if you don’t want to. All the exercises are in small groups, so you’re never suddenly standing in front of the whole group.

The start of a shared language. This training has really lowered the barrier to giving feedback. You notice a shared language emerging, so frustrations no longer linger unspoken. It helps us understand and address each other better.

Listening without judgement: simple, but so powerful. The realisation that I sometimes unconsciously steer conversations with my judgement was confronting. The exercises showed how things can be done differently. I was given practical tools to listen with a truly open mind and respond better in difficult situations.

Setting boundaries without feeling guilty. I am much more aware of my own boundaries and that I am allowed to protect them without fearing the other person’s reaction. The training gave me the confidence to have the conversation, even when it is uncomfortable.

Directed theatre

Some colleagues wonder whether the training includes compulsory role-play. It does not. The training uses directed theatre: the trainer and an actor act out a scenario, whilst participants offer tips and guidance from their seats. Anyone who wishes to can practise in small groups afterwards, but this is optional. Discussing a case study in a peer review setting is also an option.

Curious about what the training can offer you?

In a short video, two colleagues explain how they experienced the training and what they gained from it.

Also launched: two-day training for supervisors

Besides the training for employees, the two-day training for supervisors has now also begun. The groups up to the summer are full, meaning the first 100 supervisors are already being trained. Over the next eighteen months, all supervisors will undertake the training Impactful Leadership as part of Prevent Care Cure’s core offering. The training helps supervisors to be more confident in their role: encouraging desired behaviour, recognising undesirable behaviour, raising the issue and addressing it effectively. Participation is by invitation via email from HR.

Haven’t registered for the Constructive Dialogue training yet?

Invitations are sent by email and sorted by surname. The final group will be notified in May. You can always register earlier: registration is open to everyone. The training is part of Prevent Care Cure’s core offering, and all staff members are expected to participate. With the exception of supervisors, who will be attending the Impactful Leadership training course.
