50% discount on public transport during construction work on the concrete IJssel Bridge on the A12

Do you live in the Arnhem area and travel by car to the campus via the A12? If so, there is a good chance you will face significant traffic disruption in the coming weeks. From 9.00 pm on Tuesday 7 April until 5.00 am on Thursday 14 May 2026, Rijkswaterstaat will be carrying out major maintenance work on the concrete IJssel Bridge on the A12 near Arnhem. To alleviate travel inconvenience and delays caused by traffic jams, Rijkswaterstaat is offering Radboud University staff a 50% discount on off-peak bus and train journeys via the glimble app.

How and when should I travel?

The offer is subject to a number of conditions. For example, on weekdays you may travel before 06:30, between 09:00 and 16:00, and after 18:30. At weekends or on public holidays, you can travel all day. The discount is only valid for bus and train journeys that start and/or end in Arnhem, Westervoort, Duiven, Zevenaar, Didam, ’s Heerenberg, Velp and Rozendaal. The promotion runs from Tuesday 7 April to 14 May 2026 and you can take advantage of it if you travel using the glimble app. You will therefore need to download this first.
