Advisory Report Recognition and Rewards

We have received the 'Advice Recognition and Rewards FSW: Development/Career profiles and Workload Reduction FSW' from the faculty’s project leaders of Recognition & Rewards, Hanneke den Ouden and Sabine Geurts. They eagerly started working with the recommendations given in the report 'Balanced Recognition and rewards of Scientific Personnel within FSW'. This has resulted in an extensive report which includes seven recommendations regarding the fields of development and career profiles, and workload reduction.

The board would like to thank the project leaders for their enthusiastic efforts and the extensive advisory report they have provided. The board will develop a plan on how to implement these recommendations at the faculty within the next month, keeping into account the current context of the budget cuts and the developments within the nation-wide and Radboud-wide programmes of Recognition and Rewards.

It is still our aim to develop a realistic set of tasks for everyone, with balanced recognition for all of the various domains within education, research, impact, and leadership. Our priority here is a realistic assignment of teaching duties. We furthermore want to decrease the pressure to perform by making clearer arrangements with individual employees about what they will focus on at specific moments (e.g. writing a research proposal or article, working on educational innovation or a focus on impact, etc.) in order to prevent overwhelming them with a great number of tasks. This will also provide a clear overview of the possible developments for scientific personnel in the various job profiles.

We will keep you updated on our next steps via the Weekly.
