Apply for your NS Business Card before 10 June

From 1 July 2026, Radboud University’s new Travel and Relocation Expenses Scheme will come into effect. This scheme stipulates that the cost of public transport for commuting will be reimbursed in full if you live more than 10 km from the university. Employees affected by this have received an email regarding this matter. In response to the questions we have received, here is some additional information.

Commuting more than 10 km

Do you live more than 10 km from the campus, travel by public transport and already have an NS Business Card? Then you don’t need to do anything.

Do you live more than 10 km from the university and, due to the amended scheme coming into effect on 1 July, do you wish to travel by public transport rather than by car for your commute? Or do you already use public transportation, but with your own public transportation chip card? If so, apply for an NS-Business Card at TC&O Mobydesk. Do this application by 10 June at the latest to ensure you receive the card in time for 1 July. This is because there is a processing time of 2–3 weeks.

The NS-Business Card can also be used on the SB58 bus route from Emmerich via Kleve to Nijmegen.

Public transport costs

From 1 July, Radboud University will settle all your public transport costs for commuting directly with the NS. You will no longer be able to claim public transport costs incurred for commuting from 1 July 2026 onwards. You can still claim public transport costs for commuting incurred up to and including 30 June 2026 until 31 October 2026.
