On 23 July, a final agreement was reached on the collective labour agreement for Dutch universities for 2025-2026. All parties to the collective labour agreement have agreed to the negotiation results reached earlier this month between the Universities of the Netherlands (UNL) and the employee organisations.
The collective labour agreement will run from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026. On 1 July 2025, the salaries of university employees working at a Dutch university will be increased by 2.0% on a structural basis. Subsequently, as of 1 July 2025, all amounts in the salary table will be structurally increased by €100. The wage increase and increase in the salary table will be paid out no later than October 2025. As soon as it is clear when Radboud University will issue the pay rise, employees will be informed via the weekly newsletter (Weekbericht). This brings the average structural wage increase in this collective labour agreement to 4.2%. In addition, university employees who are employed by a Dutch university on 1 July 2025 will receive a one-off payment no later than October 2025. Based on full-time employment, this payment will be €350.
The parties to the collective labour agreement are also setting up an Employability Fund with the aim of supporting university employees in their professional development and career mobility in times of political budget cuts, major legislative changes and related reorganisations.
An explanation of these outcomes and other agreements can be found in the final collective labour agreement.
