Awareness Week Copyright in Education

Copyright and attribution, we deal with it almost every day in our research and teaching. Do you know which rules to apply legally? And did you know that you have to be precise in what you share with students via Brightspace? To keep you well informed and get you started, the University Library's Copyright Information Point (CIP) is organising a week of activities in November.

Presentations and walk-in moments

The CIP is organising (lunch) presentations and walk-in moments in all faculties from 25 to 29 November. This will provide a low-threshold opportunity for everyone to discuss with copyright experts how to correctly attribute sources in your educational context. This way, applying the rules becomes easier to you!

(Lunch) presentations

During the (lunch) presentation, the CIP will explain in 30 minutes which copyright rules apply and how to apply them easily and correctly during your lecture and beyond in educational material. All presentations are in English, unless all participants are Dutch-speaking.

  • Monday 25 November 12.30 - 1.00 pm: Law
  • Monday 25 November 12.30 - 1.00 pm: Science
  • Monday 25 November 12.30 - 1.00 pm: FPTR and Arts
  • Wednesday 27 November 11.00 - 12.00 am: all faculties
  • Thursday 28 November 12.30 - 1.00 pm: Nijmegen School of Management
  • Thursday 28 November 12.30 - 1.00 pm: Social Sciences
  • Thursday 28 November 12.30 - 1.00 pm: Medical Sciences

WorkshopPimp your PowerPoint

During the workshop, you'll discover how your PowerPoint presentation can enhance your message. We'll achieve this by exploring its purpose, style, design, and visualization. There is also a special focus on including copyrighted material in your presentation.

Sign up for the workshop!

Walk-in moments

Do you have questions about copyright in education and applying the Easy Access Rules? Or would you like to know more about your rights and obligations if you are an author of educational material yourself? Join one of the moments below at your faculty to talk to your CIP colleagues.

Educational material and copyright

Educational materials are under copyright. Educational materials include articles, images, videos (web lectures) or (parts of) a book or magazine. For the use of these materials in teaching, educational institutions have often made special arrangements with the copyright holders.
