Last summer, Campus & Facilities conducted research into the climate and air ventilation in the Maria Montessori building in response to various complaints. As a follow-up to this research, the following adaptations were tested in different rooms:
- The amount of incoming air is increased
- The temperature of incoming air is reduced.
Smoke tests were conducted to assess the effects of these changes on air quality. The results indicated that lowering the air temperature positively impacts the ventilation of the space. This adjustment has now been implemented throughout the entire building.
As outdoor temperatures are now dropping, the lower incoming air temperature may be less comfortable, and staff might perceive rooms as cooler and/or experience issues related to cold. It is important to note that the university maintains a standard room temperature of 19 degrees Celsius.
Are you experiencing cold-related issues?
If you experience cold-related issues in the coming period, please report them to Campus & Facilities, providing the time, number of staff affected, and location. You can contact Campus & Facilities by calling +024 26 33333 or using the online form.
Campus & Facilities will check whether the systems are functioning correctly but will not make individual adjustments to the system. At the start of 2025, an evaluation will be conducted to assess the number of reports received and determine whether further adjustments are necessary.
