Discover new testing software Ans

Radboud University will use test software Ans for digital testing from September 2024. Over the past few months, careful work has been done on the transition from Cirrus to Ans and many pilot tests have been taken. The transition went well and the university is ready to start testing with the new software.

Getting started with Ans

All lecturers who are connected to a course in Osiris as an examiner will automatically have access to Ans. Other teachers must first apply for an account for Ans via the Account Portal. Once you have an account, you can log into Ans.

Working with Ans will take some getting used to at first. In the software, you can use a large number of question types such as multiple-choice questions, ranking questions, hotspot questions and mathematical equations. Compared to the old testing software Cirrus, designations may be different. Check out the transition guide for this. Ans has short instructional videos explaining each step in the testing process. And of course, your faculty's digital testing coordinator is ready to help you get started with digital testing. Upon request, they can give you access to a demo test to familiarise yourself with the software.

Colleagues share examples

In the coming months, Radboud lecturers will share their experiences of assessing with Ans. University lecturer Ruud van den Beuken (Faculty of Arts) shows in the first video how he can assess with Ans in a more transparent and reliable way.
It allows him to grade open-ended exams with great ease.
