A socially safe working environment is important for job satisfaction, effective collaboration, and quality. Because everyone can contribute to increasing safety, Radboud University now offers the e-learning Social safety for staff members. An online training course in which you learn how to contribute to a socially safe work environment.
What will you learn?
In 90 minutes, you will be given practical examples, videos, and reflection assignments to help you deal with difficult situations. You will learn:
- how to recognise transgressive behaviour;
- how to respond, whether you’re directly involved or a bystander;
- where to go for advise and support.
Why this e-learning?
The most recent staff survey shows that many colleagues experience the work culture as pleasant. At the same time, one in five colleagues report experiencing undesirable behaviour, and almost one in three witness it in the workplace. This includes gossip, exclusion, or abuse of power. That is why Radboud University prioritises social safety.
This e-learning is part of the core offer, meaning participation is expected from all staff. A tailored version for managers is available.
Coming later this year: ‘Constructive dialogue’ training
The e-learning will be followed by the in-person Constructive Dialogue training from autumn onwards. It will equip you to engage in conversations about behaviour in a constructive way, without avoiding discomfort or difficult topics. This training is also part of the core offer.
The e-learning and training are part of the Prevent Care Cure project, through which Radboud University is actively working towards a more socially safe study and working environment.
