In August, September and October, the 7-month, 24-month and later checkpoints are in writing. PhD candidates and supervisors are asked to fill in the progress report and confidential questionnaire online. A short report is made based on these. Only when PhD candidates and/or supervisors indicate that a meeting is desirable or necessary, it is still scheduled.
For go/no go checkpoints and final-year interviews, nothing will change. The research director will conduct these. The faculty PhD coordinator will schedule these meetings as usual.
In October, the GSH will evaluate the change and come up with a proposal for structural revision of the monitoring system. The checkpoints in writing are thus fixed for August-October. A decision on the follow-up will be taken in October.
The change affects only employed PhD candidates. For external PhD candidates, nothing will change.
