ICT Helpdesk runs pilot with new remote support tool: Remote Help

From May 1st to July 1st, the ICT Helpdesk will run a pilot with a new digital remote support tool: Remote Help. When you contact the ICT Helpdesk, the Helpdesk colleague can view your screen using this tool.

Viewing the screen works slightly differently than what you might be used to. Do you use a Radboud-managed Windows or macOS workstation? Then that means the Remote Help app will be installed by default from May 1st onwards. Do you manage your own workstation? Then the ICT Helpdesk may ask you to install the Remote Help app yourself. Please follow the instruction guide for this (eduVPN required).

Currently, several tools are being used for viewing screens remotely, such as Remote Assistance and TeamViewer. If the pilot proves successful, Remote Help will become the new standard digital remote support tool. Switching to a single, uniform tool will ensure greater ease of use, better recognisability, and financial savings.
