Information Comenius programme 2027 for lecturers of Social Sciences

Are you a lecturer interested in pursuing educational innovation? For example, within a course, faculty, or even across the university? Then apply for the Comenius Programme 2027. The programme offers three types of grants: Teaching Fellows, Senior Fellows, and Leadership Fellows. Depending on your experience, you can apply for one of these grants.

Interested in the Comenius programme?

The Comenius programme HO (2027), focused on educational innovation, consists of three different scholarships: the Teaching Fellow (€50.000), Senior Fellow (€100.000) and Leadership Fellow (€500.000). It is possible to apply for one of these scholarships, depending on your experience and the scope of the project. Do you have ideas for educational innovation within your course, educational programme, faculty or even the university? Then this might be the scholarship for you!

Senior and Leadership Fellows 2027: internal pre-selection FSW

For the Comenius Senior Fellows, only one application may be submitted per faculty. If there are multiple FSW candidates, there will be an internal pre-selection.

For the Comenius Leadership Fellows, only one application may be submitted per institute (i.e., the entire Radboud University). For this fellowship, there  will first be an internal pre-selection within the FSW, followed by a selection by the Executive Board (CVB).

Are you interested in one of these two fellowships? Please let grantsupport-fsw [at] ru.nl (FSW Grant Support) know by Monday 8 june at 09:00h at the latest. Also send:

  • For Senior Fellows: a short summary of your project proposal (max. 250 words)
  • For Leadership Fellows: a clear description of your project proposal (approx. one page)

The advisory committee, existing of the Vice Dean of Education (Jochem Tolsma) and the Director of Education (Nienke Peters-Scheffer), will communicate on June 8 2026 which project idea is the most promising and will be applying on behalf of the FSW.

Teaching Fellows

The publication of this call is expected in early July 2026. There is no limit for the amount of applications for the Teaching Fellowship. There will therefore be no internal pre-selection. It is however advisable to let FSW Grant Support know of your plans, so that they are informed and, if desired, can support.

For all Comenius grants, the following applies: before the full application can be submitted to NRO, you must have approval from both your Programme and Research Director.
