With regard to social safety, the inspectorate has identified the same two areas for improvement: strengthening insight into risk factors and analysing the effectiveness of existing policies and measures.
Meetings between the inspectorate and the university took place in February and March. During these discussions, the Inspectorate expressed its appreciation for the direction in which the university is moving, for example through the social safety programme Prevent Care Cure.
Following these discussions and further investigation, the university received a letter from the inspectorate in July containing four warnings. These relate to the areas mentioned above where improvements are expected.
Marcel Wintels, Vice-President of the Executive Board, said: “Partly thanks to the critical perspective of the Labour Inspectorate, we can continue to work in a targeted way on further improving our organisation, for the benefit of all our staff. We know that we are on the right track, and we also know that we are not there yet. We have been given between 9 and 18 months to develop and implement further improvements, and we are confident that we will succeed."
