With effect from 5 June 2023, ir Jolle Landman will take office as management director of the Faculty of Arts. Jolle Landman succeeds Ger Boonen, who has been management director of the faculty in recent years.
Jolle Landman (Sneek, 1972) studied Environmental Science at Wageningen University and was successively head of the department at Rijkswaterstaat and head of Research and Innovation at the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI). He then served as Director of Finance, Compliance & Control and Director of Organisation, Operations and Personnel at the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM). In these positions, Jolle gained broad experience in business management issues and change processes within knowledge organisations.
"As a native Frisian, I am familiar with bilingualism and know the special significance of language to express what you think and feel. I also particularly enjoy reading fiction and non-fiction alternately, such as currently the voluminous biography of Erasmus. I find it very interesting to gain more insight into how words and translations shape our view of the world, and I look forward to getting to know the staff of the Faculty of Arts."
The Faculty Board looks forward with confidence to working with Jolle Landman as the new director of operations and warmly welcomes him.
