Marketing & Communications division will work in a matrix model

The Marketing & Communications Division, which employs about 75 people, is going to work in a matrix organization starting in the new academic year. They will organize themselves into 8 target group teams and 7 expertise teams. The new format is going to provide a number of advantages.

With the new format, they will continue to do the same work, they believe that they can provide better and more professional services. It will allow them to better utilize our capacity and talent by being more flexible and adaptive. This is necessary to constantly innovate in a rapidly changing field and to meet customers needs. With this matrix model, they also hope to be less vulnerable by limiting individual dependence. In addition, the responsibility is placed as low as possible, namely with the teams. They will work with OGMSs per team and a uniform meeting structure.

What do our colleagues within Radboud Services and at the faculties notice about this? They benefit because they can use different areas of expertise more easily, depending on what is needed. They will directly be matched to a target group team or an expertise team. A target group team has the overview and monitors the entire customer journey and can thus integrate your issue into it. For the customer, this means less fragmented information, with the goal, of course, of more effective outreach and higher customer satisfaction.

Over the past year they have been working towards this model in small steps. The mindset in the division is now: let's start, see how it goes and optimize further where necessary. So after the summer they will start!
