Mercator III evacuated after chemical reaction

The Mercator III business building on the Radboud University campus was evacuated around 12.45pm today after a chemical reaction took place in one of the laboratories, releasing fumes.

There were no injuries and the evacuation also went smoothly.

UPDATE: The fire department has conducted tests in the lab and no more reactions are taking place. The building will be released at 3pm, with the exception of the laboratory in question. That will be sealed and only after it is cleaned by a chemical cleaning company can it be reoccupied.
