AI Living Lab for Lecturers: Working with AI

Teachers want to experiment with AI in their teaching. But how can this technology be used in a responsible and well-considered way? SURF and Npuls are developing a secure AI tool for use in education: EduGenAI. During the AI living lab, Steven Trooster will give a demonstration that offers an accessible introduction to the possibilities of EduGenAI and how you can use it in your teaching. Afterwards, you will get to try it out for yourself.

Show & Tell: How students use AI in their studies

During this Show & Tell, students will demonstrate how they are making smart use of AI in their studies – not to cheat, but to accelerate and deepen their learning process. The event provides an opportunity for an open and honest discussion about the role of AI in education and invites lecturers to contribute their thoughts on what this means for assessment, learning objectives and curriculum design.

Meet-up SIG AI and education: AI and sustainability

We are becoming increasingly aware of the impact of air travel and meat consumption, but the environmental impact of our daily data usage often goes unnoticed. And yet AI consumes a great deal of energy, and data centres require drinking water. During this session, Bernard van Gastel, an expert in sustainable digitalisation, will explain the impact of AI. We will also discuss what you can do to reduce your digital energy consumption. We will also be providing an update on developments within EduGenAI.

AI GO! AI Literacy in Education: a practical framework

This knowledge product presents an evidence-informed framework to help education professionals understand and promote AI literacy. The framework is based on a comprehensive umbrella review of scientific literature, enriched with practical examples and insights from professionals through World Café sessions.
