Why is it that people often fail to reach their full potential in and outside of work? It could very well have something to do with shame. If you feel ashamed, you think badly about yourself. Then you want to hide, or you are inclined to 'pretend'.
What if you experienced shame as liberation? As a source of power? The fact that you are ashamed proves that you want to be better.
Lecture on 7 July (Dutch only)
Aukje Nauta (professor of organisational psychology) has been working on advice and research on this theme for a long time. On 7 July, she will give a lecture at Radboud University, in the context of getting a grip on your career.
During the lecture Aukje will stimulate you to learn to recognise and express shame. She does this with a mix of scientific research, painfully recognizable, everyday examples in and outside the workplace, personal revelations and practical exercises. This will enable you to embrace shame as a source of strength.
