How did departing colleagues experience their time at Radboud University? And what lessons can be learned from it? With the renewed exit process, HR gathers valuable insights from departing employees. This helps us identify signals related to social safety and continuously improve the working environment. In addition, the exit process offers departing employees a proper completion of their time at Radboud University.
Valuable feedback
All departing employees are invited to complete an exit survey, which explicitly addresses social safety. In addition, they have the option of a confidential exit interview with an HR advisor of their own faculty/division or an employee of the HR division.
What happens to the feedback?
The collected information is processed anonymously in an annual report. Each summer, the results are shared with the relevant faculties and the Executive Board, so that targeted improvements can be implemented.
From pilot to policy
Last year, we ran a successful pilot with this exit process. Based on the positive results, the Executive Board decided in August 2024 to introduce this approach permanently. Since the end of 2024, this has been standard procedure.
Part of a broader initiative
The exit process was developed by HR within the Prevent-Care-Cure project, through which we are actively working on social safety within the university. Want to know more? Visit the project page on the website.
