New Management Director (Faculty of Social Sciences)

At the beginning of March, Suzanne Boelens, Management Director at the Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS), will take up the position of Interim Division Director Academic Affairs at Radboud Services. This means that Suzanne will be stepping down from her position as FSS Management Director and will be leaving the faculty.

Suzanne: “I realise that my departure is sudden and coming up quickly, but with the challenges facing the division, a quick transition was necessary. It is a well-considered step that offers me exciting new opportunities and challenges.
This decision has not been easy and I have had to think long and hard about it.
Our faculty is a wonderful place to work and it feels like a very welcoming place with very nice colleagues. I therefore look back on four incredibly beautiful, intense and meaningful years in which I have worked closely with many of you.”

Following the vacancy for Management Director at FSS, the Executive Board and the faculty board came together and asked Laura Manko to transfer from the Faculty of Arts (FoA) to the Faculty of Social Sciences. This was due to the urgency of filling this vacancy at FSS and Laura’s ambition to take a new step within the organisation. Her experience as Management Director and her HR background were decisive factors in this decision.

The faculty board is delighted that Laura will be making the move at the beginning of March and is certain that Laura is a worthy successor to Suzanne.

Laura is currently still working as Management Director at FoA and previously held positions including Operational Director at the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics (MPI) and HRM manager at the Dutch Accreditation Council. This move was agreed after the Faculty Joint Assembly of FSS had also been consulted. Laura will introduce herself in more detail in one of the next Weekly’s. The faculty board wishes Laura every success and enjoyment in her new position at FSS!

The faculty board would like to thank Suzanne for her enthusiastic dedication and passion over the past four years. Her leadership is characterised by, among other things, vision, transparency, empathy and respect and appreciation for everyone in the organisation. Thanks in part to Suzanne, we now work in an organisation that is more professional, more transparent and more future-proof. We wish Suzanne all the best in her new challenges as interim Division Director of Academic Affairs.

On Tuesday 24 March from 4 pm to 5.30 pm, we will be saying goodbye to Suzanne as FSS Management Director during a drinks reception. All FSS colleagues are invited to attend. Location: De Iris (at the back, terrace side)
