Similar to how an architect is responsible for designing a building, installation consultants take care of the functional aspects such as heating, ventilation, lighting, cooling, electricity, data, (drinking) water, sewerage, fire safety and more. Within Campus & Facilities, the technical consultants have a lot of knowledge and expertise in this area, but larger (construction) projects require additional capacity. With this cooperation with external agencies, we can jointly realise the goals from the campus plan and further develop our own technical expertise.
The agencies are not unknown on campus. Nelissen engineering firm previously provided installation advice and design for the construction of the Grotius building. Sweegers & de Bruijn advised on the renovation of the Gymnasion and the expansion of the Elinor Ostrom building. This firm has also been a partner for installation consultancy for the past five years.
The official start of this renewed cooperation was marked with an informal kick-off on 23 August. Representatives of Nelissen engineering firm, Sweegers & de Bruijn / Cauberg Huygen and Campus & Facilities placed signatures and got (re-)acquainted. A great step in the further development of our sustainable campus.
