Reason for the change
After working with the previous travel agent, VCK Travel, it soon became clear that certain requirements could not be met. This was one of the reasons why we decided to award the contract to a secondary bidder which could meet these requirements. From that list, Diversity Travel was selected.
Advantages of Diversity Travel:
- A simplified and fast digital booking process for staff;
- User profiles are created by the users themselves, making it easier for someone else to book a trip for you;
- Easier to compare travel options in the booking tool in order to choose the optimal combination of travel time and cost;
- Diversity Travel has extensive experience in booking trips for staff from universities and other educational institutions inside and outside the Netherlands, such as the University of Groningen, Wageningen University and Research, Erasmus University, Saxion University of Applied Sciences, Hanze University of Applied Sciences and Fontys University of Applied Sciences.
Diversity Travel has both an online booking tool (website) and a full-service team available. The online booking tool is suitable for booking a flight, hotel or train trip. Are you going to multiple destinations or would you like some help? You can then contact Diversity Travel's full-service team. They can book buses, boats and taxis for you, for example, in addition to everything else available online.

Training for staff on the booking process with Diversity Travel
As an employee, you can participate in an online training in which Diversity Travel explains the booking process: a training for when you book your own trips, and for when you do this for another colleague. The training sessions can also be watched back as an instructional video at a later date.

Working with a travel agent
The collaboration with a travel agent reflects the sustainable travel policy at Radboud University, such as train travel for distances under 700 kilometres. During the booking process, you also get immediate insight into the carbon emissions of a travel option and our collective emissions are measured. For staff, there is 24/7 support in case of emergencies or unforeseen circumstances during a business trip and an automatic activation is created with Radboud University's travel insurance. In the event of an emergency or crisis, it is clear exactly which staff members are where.
Radboud University believes that Diversity Travel will bring significant improvements. Any transition requires flexibility and there may be hitches along the way.
