No more desk top computers in teaching rooms – bring your own device

This summer, the desk top computers were removed from the classrooms. This means that, from now on, teachers will need to bring their own (Radboud) laptop and connect it to the screen in the classroom.

If you do not yet have a laptop, request one quickly through your faculty channels to avoid delays at the start of your lectures.

The classrooms are equipped with connection and charging points for laptops, and instructions for use are available. A limited number of loaner laptops are available at the reception desk for emergencies.

Pay attention to pop-up notifications

Make sure you turn off pop-up notifications (such as from Teams or Outlook) before connecting your laptop to the screen. This prevents private information from being visible to your students.

You can turn off notifications on your laptop (Windows) by following the steps below.

  • Open the Start menu and click on Settings.
  • Go to System and click on Notifications and actions.
  • Turn on Do Not Disturb to temporarily disable all notifications, or choose Focus for a shorter period.
