Nominees for University Education Awards 2024 announced

Good education must be given a stage! Every year, Radboud University presents the University Education Awards and the nominees have been announced. With these awards (a senior and a talent award), the Executive Board aims to reward and encourage excellent educational achievements. This year, the annual awards will be presented during The Education Days on 1 April.

The nominees 

All nominees were nominated by their students, colleagues and faculty boards.  

Nominees Talent Award

Nominated for the University Education Talent Award 2024 are (in alphabetical order):

  • Dr. Emily Shuman (Faculty of Arts)

Nominees Senior Award

Nominated for the University Education senior teaching award 2024 are (in alphabetical order):

The jury 

The Executive Board awards the prizes based on the advice of a jury, chaired by Jan Bransen (Academic Leader Radboud Teaching and Learning Centre). The final winners will each receive a certificate and a cash prize of € 3,000. Two-thirds of that amount of money has to be used to improve education; one-third is to be spent by the winner as they see fit.   

In addition to Jan Bransen, the jury consists of Hennig Meredig (Faculty of Arts), Peter Klaren (Faculty of Science), Joost Hoenderop (Faculty of Medical Sciences), Harmen Ghijsen (Faculty of Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies), Annemarie van Stee (Faculty of Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies), Casper Kirkels (Radboud Honours Academy) and students Sebastiaan Ram (Faculty of Science), Isabelle Scholte (Nijmegen School of Management) and Oscar Vos (Nijmegen School of Management). The jury takes various elements into account in its assessment, including the extent to which the lecturer or the teaching team has contributed to the innovation or improvement of education through their teaching performance.   

Attend the award ceremony 

The winners of the year 2024 will be announced during The Education Days on Tuesday afternoon, 1 April, from 16:00 to 17:00 at the Radboudumc Experience Center. 

Everyone is welcome to attend the awards ceremony. Pre-registration is not necessary.

The award ceremony will also be livestreamed on YouTube. The livestream will start a few minutes before the ceremony starts.
