Pre-announcement: new funding round Open Science Infrastructure programme

Open Science NL intends to launch a new call for proposals in the Open Science Infrastructure programme in October 2026. This call for proposals is aimed at improving and further developing existing digital infrastructures that enable open science. During this second round, there will be a greater focus on collaboration and the formation of consortia.

Objective

The aim of this upcoming call for proposals is to improve and further develop existing digital infrastructures that enable open science. The call is intended to address a wide range of needs and support diverse projects, ranging from discipline-specific infrastructures to generic solutions. This broad scope enables a diverse range of initiatives that strengthen and advance the open science ecosystem.

Budget

The total budget for this call is 17 million euros. Applicants may request up to 1,7 million euros per proposal.

Key dates

The provisional timetable is as follows:

  • Publication call for proposals: October 2026
  • Online orientation session (optional, registration is already open): 26 October 2026
  • Submission deadline for letter of intent via ISAAC (mandatory): 3 November 2026
  • Deadline for workshop registration (mandatory): 3 November 2026
  • Workshop (compulsory): 2 December 2026
  • Deadline for submitting proposals: 13 April 2027
