A Curriculum Information System (CIS) enables the curriculum development process to be organised in a clearer, more practical and more user‑friendly way for all users, from lecturers to programme directors and educational support staff. Students also benefit, as they can gain greater insight into the expected studyload within their curriculum. By making curriculum information available in a single institution‑wide system and ‘filling’ it in a harmonized way, curriculum teams gain better insight into the coherence of their teaching, collaboration between programmes becomes easier and processes related to quality assurance become more efficient. In this way, a CIS can support and streamline the development process, making the work more engaging and reducing manual tasks. The CIS will ultimately be linked to other information systems, such as Osiris and TermTime.
Following the market consultation held last December, preparations for the procurement are now underway. The wishes and requirements for a CIS are being defined through organised thematic sessions with representatives from faculties and divisions. In addition, assessment criteria and other documentation are currently being drafted, which will serve as a basis for procuring a suitable CIS for Radboud University. The (phased) implementation of the system is scheduled to begin in September 2026.
