Register for (new) leadership programmes

As a supervisor at Radboud University, you can take part in a range of training courses and programmes. A number of new and existing leadership programmes will be starting again after the summer.

Good leadership is important, especially in times of (organisational) change. Through training and development programs, supervisors are supported in strengthening their leadership skills and in fostering a safe and inclusive work culture. For new managers, an onboarding program is available to help them make a strong start in their role.

Leadership programmes

As part of its leadership development initiatives, Radboud University offers core programmes for various groups of supervisors. You can register for the program that applies to you via the links below.

  • For professors, directors and heads of departments: Leadership Programme 'Courage, Connection and Openness' starts on 22 September. 
  • For team leaders and coordinators: Core Leadership Programme, starts on 31 August.
  • For associate professors (UHD) and assistant professors (UD) with managerial duties and roles: Academic Leadership, starts on 15 September.
    Please note: your supervisor/HR advisor must give permission for Academic Leadership. You can find the required form on gROW.

In these programmes, supervisors will delve into leadership at Radboud University, work on personal leadership development through reflection and practice, and learn with and from fellow supervisors.

Training courses for a safe and inclusive culture

A pleasant working environment contributes to job satisfaction, collaboration and the quality of our work. That is why Prevent Care Cure offers training courses for staff and supervisors, aimed at reinforcing positive and professional behaviour and preventing undesirable behaviour in the workplace. For supervisors, there is the two-day training course ‘Impactful Leadership: Towards a Safe and Inclusive Culture'.
All supervisors take part in this. They will receive an email invitation to sign up for new groups starting after the summer.

Staff members take part in the one-day training: the Constructive Dialogue training course. In this training, you learn how to engage in open and effective conversations, even when there’s friction. Haven’t signed up yet Register here.

New: Onboarding for new supervisors

Radboud University is delighted to welcome new supervisors to their roles. All essential information for current and new supervisors can be found in the onboarding environment. Four times a year, there is an introductory session entitled 'Your role, your impact'. Here supervisors will meet other new supervisors and, through information, discussion and exercises, gain a deeper understanding of leadership within Radboud University and how to fulfil your own role. Every new supervisor takes part in this. Did you start in your supervisor role in the last six months? Please register for the session on 8 June.
