Staff Survey Social Sciences 2024 - Update

In accordance with the results of the 2024 Staff Survey, the Faculty of Social Sciences has started to tackle some of the focus points of this report. The results showed that many colleagues experience a lot of pleasure and success in working at our faculty, which is something that we’re very proud of and will continue to be!

Focus points such as social safety, workload, co-determination, and managerial tasks have been considered with enthusiasm within the ongoing projects at our faculty. This is happening at the programme for social safety and the programmes focussed on workload reduction, recognition and reward, and the yearly evaluations.

The focus point social safety frequently highlights the “Active Bystander Training: How to respond adequately to undesirable behaviour?” Trainings will take place again in March 2025, and sign-up is possible through Grow. Are you in? That way we can learn together how to respond in socially unsafe situations, and contribute to a positive and comfortable working environment. Besides, there are intervision sessions for managers regarding the theme of social safety, and we will join the university-wide programme “Prevent-Care-Cure”.

The second focus point, the aim to keep workload under control, has become an important issue in the plans regarding the budget cuts for the Faculty of Social Sciences. Furthermore, our co-determination group has given an update on the tasks of last year’s Representative Council and has presented a preview for the next year. Would you like to attend one of the Faculty Joint Assembly meetings? You can! Send an email to bestuur.fsw [at] ru.nl (bestuur[dot]fsw[at]ru[dot]nl).
