This concerns the promotion of:
- a number of female associate professors to full professors;
- a number of teaching assistant professors to associate professors. The term ‘teaching assistant professor’ refers to an assistant professor with a focus on teaching, for example due to their appointment (60/40 or 70/30 research/teaching) or by excelling in teaching (regardless of their appointment, so including assistant professors with a 50/50 appointment). This applies to all assistant professors, not just female assistant professors.
The Faculty Board has decided to initiate the procedures for these strategic promotions and has asked the tripartite committees (programme director, research director and department chair) to indicate whether, and if so, whom they would like to nominate for these strategic promotions.
There is scope for approximately 4 to 5 promotions in total. If more staff are nominated than the budget allows for, selection will be based on the UFO criteria. The tripartite committee may submit nominations by 17 June at the latest.
