From 15 June 2026, please direct all your individual/operational HR enquiries and questions to the new HR Service Desk and Operations department at Berchmanianum. This includes enquiries and HR questions regarding contracts, individual changes, leave, staff data, policies or the use of HR systems. There are three different ways to contact HR staff.
For you as a staff member, there is a single RU-wide point of contact for your operational HR enquiries and HR questions via the request form. You can also call the HR Service Desk on 0243623333 or pop in at the desk at Berchmanianum, room 01.300, from Monday to Thursday between 09.00 and 16.00. Need further assistance? Then arrange a (follow-up) appointment with HR that suits your situation.
For supervisors
In addition to the contact options listed above, there are separate email addresses for supervisors, ensuring that operational HR queries and questions relevant to your role as a supervisor are directed straight to the appropriate client or specialist team. You can find these email addresses in the newsletter for supervisors (June edition) or at ru.nl.
In addition, as a supervisor, you can contact the HR advisor of your unit for strategic or tactical queries.
Requesting HR changes via forms
As a supervisor (or as a delegate, such as a management assistant), you can easily request HR changes via the Topdesk forms. This includes, for example:
- requesting a vacancy;
- appointing a new employee;
- extending or amending an employment contract.
Please ensure that you have approval from the relevant authority, or an approved (project) budget, before submitting your request. Please bear in mind that processing requests takes some time.
Understanding of change
To ensure this transition goes as smoothly as possible, it may be the case that questions or requests in June take slightly longer to process than you are used to. HR asks for everyone’s understanding and cooperation in this matter. With this new approach, HR ensures that operational HR queries are handled clearly and consistently. Furthermore, collaboration will be more efficient and cost savings will be achieved without compromising teaching and research. The way we work with HR staff is changing: there will no longer be a dedicated HR staff member per (faculty) building, but they will be available via the options above and will be present at Berchmanianum. This will take some getting used to for everyone.
Optimisation of Human Resources
We are working hard to improve the services provided by Human Resources. The HR division is working towards an HR organisation that operates efficiently and professionally and delivers the services that staff and managers can expect from a professional HR organisation. Consolidating HR operations, standardising processes and further digitisation lay the foundations for an efficient and future-proof HR organisation. This creates scope for the HR department to focus more strongly on strategic advice in the long term and thus better support the organisation.
Do you have an operational HR query? Submit your HR query via one of the three contact options on ru.nl.
