Working at the Elinor Ostrom Building
From Monday 20 July to Friday 7 August, the Elinor Ostrom Building (EOS) will be your workplace on campus. You can come here between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm. In the entrance hall, you’ll find the reception desk, where a host will also be on hand to assist you. The receptionist and host are there to answer your questions and help you find your way around. On the ground floor, the second and third floors, there are floor plans showing where to find workspaces, meeting rooms, lockers, coffee facilities and so on. The available workspaces are marked on these floor plans as ‘blue zones’.
Workspaces and meeting rooms
- On the signs showing room numbers, you can see from the blue round stickers that the workstations in this room are available for you to sit at.
- Dedicated workstations are marked ‘dedicated work place’; this is displayed in a holder on the desks.
- Most workstations are equipped with two screens, a keyboard, a wired mouse and a docking station. You can plug your laptop into these.
- The office chairs are adjustable, here’s how to do it.

- In the EOS building, we follow the ‘clean desk’ policy: please leave your workstation tidy and clear at the end of the working day.
- You will find hygiene stations in the main corridors. You can use the supplies provided to clean your workstation before and/or after work.
Campus card for catering and other services
You’ll need your campus card in the EOS to access various services, such as the coffee machine, lockers, and for scanning or printing. So make sure you bring your campus card with you to work.
- On the third floor, opposite the lifts, you’ll find the work café. There are lockers and a coffee machine here. There’s also a fridge, a cooker for making tea and soup, and a microwave for reheating food you’ve brought with you.
- You can also head to the Yard for food and drink. This café is on the first floor, in the Gymnasion wing. There’s also an outdoor terrace there.
- The multifunction printers required for printing, scanning and copying are indicated on the floor plans.
