Tamar Sharon appointed as Scientific Member of the Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities

The Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities (KHMW) has appointed prof. dr. Tamar Sharon as Scientific Member.

In her research, Tamar Sharon studies the ethical and social implications of new technologies, particularly in the field of health and medicine. She is currently focusing on the 'Googlization of health': the growing role of tech companies in health and medical research. 

The KHMW, founded in 1752, is the oldest learned society in the Netherlands and comprises of approximately 550 scientific members. The organisation aims to build bridges between the realm of science and society at large, by awarding prizes for scientific achievements and organising lectures and conferences. Appointment as a Scientific Member signals recognition of extraordinary contribution to the field.
