Towards a new HR organisation - Phase 1

During the 2025-2029 period, we as Radboud University are working on developing our Human Resources services. The aim of this programme, which involves both savings and optimisation, is to work purposefully to create an HR organisation that works efficiently and professionally while optimally meeting the needs of employees and supervisors.

The first phase, which has now begun, is laying a solid foundation for a stronger operational HR organisation with more collaboration across the University. The Executive Board has adopted the HR organisation's proposal to bundle operational HR tasks (such as contracts, mutations, and so forth). This means that operational HR staff, who now work at the various faculties and divisions, will be working together in a joint new department, helping employees and/or supervisors quickly and effectively while saving Radboud University costs. In the coming months, the way in which this team will be set up and operate will be elaborated in work groups, in which HR staff members will also be invited to take part.  From the new joint department, HR staff members will continue to support and advise faculties and departments, whereby the joint approach will enable them to better assist and reinforce each other.

As an employee, you will notice that starting from 15 June 2026, you will no longer be able to physically walk into your faculty HR officer's office in your own faculty building for HR-related questions. Instead, you will be invited to first submit your question digitally or by telephone, whereupon you will receive prompt feedback.

Of course, you may at times still need to make an in-person appointment; we are currently working out how this will be organised. You can already submit your HR-related questions digitally, whereupon you will receive prompt feedback. Submit your question here.

What the changes mean for supervisors is described in the supervisors’ newsletter that will be sent to all supervisors by 15 June.
