The lockers in the Maria Montessori building have been updated so that employees, students and guests can use a locker anywhere on campus. There is now also a maximum usage time set, which means the lockers are used more efficiently and need less frequent manual release by administrators.
These adjustments were made based on feedback from the testing period of the locker system. The use of lockers on campus continues to be expanded. As such, the test period has not ended. We will continue to improve the usage arrangements and ease of use based on your feedback, so that the use of lockers remains uniform and easy across campus.
Use of lockers
Lockers are meant to temporarily store personal belongings while studying or working on campus. For the sake of clarity, we use two types of lockers for this purpose.
- Public lockers - 24 hours
These lockers are available to students, staff and guests. You can use them for a maximum of 24 consecutive hours. This allows you to leave items in the building for the next day. After this period, the lockers are automatically blocked if they are not released, to prevent them from being occupied for too long. - Lockers for employees - working week
Employees can use these lockers for a maximum of one working week: until Friday evening 20:00. As a result, frequently used items during your working week do not have to be taken home every day and even if you work at home for a day, you can safely leave them on campus. Every Friday at 8pm, lockers not released on time are automatically locked.
After the expiry of the maximum usage time, if the lockers have not been released, they will be blocked automatically. Your belongings are then still safe in the locker but you can no longer open the locker yourself. In that case, please contact the reception of the building where the locker is located to have the locker opened and your belongings taken out.
Booking and releasing via an app
From 1 October, an app will be available that allows you to reserve and release lockers. In this app, you can see where lockers are available on campus, so you can always use a locker near your workplace. Guests who do not have a Radboud pass can register themselves once via this app to use the public lockers. More information on this will follow later.
