Some devices have not yet been replaced or upgraded for various reasons. For most of these devices, Windows 10 Extended Security Updates (ESU) have been activated since 14 October 2025, so they will continue to receive essential Windows 10 security updates for one more year. However, there are also devices that the ICT Helpdesk is unaware of whether they are still in use. This means these devices are not secure and may pose a security risk to Radboud University. Therefore, take action before 31 January 2026, if you recognize one of the following situations.
Windows 10 device still in use
Do you still use a Windows 10 device from Radboud University? Contact the ICT Helpdesk via %20icthelpdesk [at] ru.nl (icthelpdesk[at]ru[dot]nl) of by phone via 024 36 22222, so the upgrade to Windows 11 can be carried out.
Please note: You must be present on campus for this. Keep in mind that the upgrade can take a long time (about 2 hours).
If the device is not suitable for an upgrade to Windows 11, please submit a replacement request as soon as possible to the ICT-request officer of your faculty/devision/department (eduVPN connection required).
Windows 10 device no longer in use or defective
Do you have a Windows 10 device from Radboud University that you no longer use or that is defective? Please return it to the ICT Servicedesk.
Windows 10 device transferred
Have you ever transferred a Windows 10 device from Radboud University to a colleague without notifying your ICT request officer or the ICT Helpdesk? Contact your ICT request officer so the device can be reassigned and the administration updated.
