Ordering
Chemicals and liquid nitrogen are ordered exclusively through the Labservant ordering system.
In Labservant you can find liquid nitrogen under the keyword 'nitrogen'. The corresponding Dewar vessels are categorised there as bulk items with CAS number 7727-37-9. These stable vessels with 5-wheel chassis offer simple pressure and fill level control, user-friendly taps and are immediately pressurised and ready for use after filling.
Technical support
Do you have technical questions about using Labservant? Please contact Luuk van Summeren (tel. +31 24 365 25 41). For all other questions about chemicals, you can contact the Logistics Centre (tel. +31 24 365 33 66).
Delivery of chemicals
We deliver chemicals twice a day in principle. Please note that with minimal staffing at the Logistics Centre, delivery may be limited to one round per day. To ensure you receive your order on time, the following deadlines apply:
- Order before 09.00 hours? We deliver the same morning.
- Order before 14.00 hours? We deliver the same afternoon.
Please note: chemicals not pre-ordered via Labservant? We will not deliver them for administrative reasons. This also applies if you request something on-site at the Logistics Centre. You cannot therefore collect without a prior order.
Chemicals for Mercator III can be collected at the LC.
Disposing of and returning waste materials
The Logistics Centre is responsible for collecting hazardous waste, such as chemical and radioactive waste. Chemicals that you want to return to the Logistics Centre to be included in the warehouse can be placed in the transfer cabinet. These are automatically taken back on the delivery round.
Specific guidelines apply for returning items to the Logistics Centre. Chemicals that you return to our warehouse should be placed in the designated transfer cabinet; these are then automatically collected during the regular delivery round. A return procedure also applies to nitrogen Dewar vessels: to prevent shortages, we urgently request you to return these immediately after use. It is important that you return the vessels before they are completely empty. This prevents both confusion and unnecessary loss of nitrogen.
For the disposal of business waste, Campus & Facilities is the designated party. Business waste includes, for example, residual waste, paper, glass, white and brown goods, and bulky waste. Do you want to have business waste disposed of? Please contact the servicecenter-cf [at] ru.nl (Service Center).
