Focus on vegetarian and vegan food
At our catering establishments, the focus is on vegetarian and vegan food. More than 60% of what we offer is vegetarian or vegan and our standard catering is also vegetarian.
Fresh, healthy and affordable
We preferably work with local, sustainable and organic products. This means that our fruit and vegetables come from Oregional, which is a cooperative of local farmers. And our bread and pastries come from a local bakery called ’t Kraayennest and our coffee is supplied by Blommers Coffee. The coffee that we use in our vending machines is also sustainably sourced coffee that bears the Max Havelaar and Eko quality labels.
Sustainability initiatives
We are working to make our services more sustainable through initiatives such as:
- Replacing all disposable cups with reusable Billie Cups. Any drink that you order from one of our coffee corners will be supplied in a Billie Cup. The €1.00 deposit that you pay for the Billie Cup can be redeemed when you return it. You can also use your Billie Cup at the coffee machines on campus!
- Working with companies like PreZero, which collects coffee grounds from catering establishments and processes these into new products, such as fuel and notebooks.
- Offering unsold food in the Too Good To Go app, so that it doesn’t have to be thrown away.
Vending Machines
In addition to the above food and beverage options, there are vending machines scattered throughout campus for hot drinks, soft drinks, snacks and office supplies.
