CLA and local regulations

Radboud University’s terms of employment have been laid down in the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU). Radboud University has adopted a number of local regulations and schemes in addition to and as an elaboration of the CAO. 

Collective Labour Agreement (CAO)

The CAO contains provisions about:

  • The rights and duties of an employee;
  • Entering into a contract of employment;
  • Salary, bonuses, reimbursement and contributions; 
  • Working hours, holidays and leave; 
  • The Employment Conditions Selection Model
  • Personnel policy;
  • Pensions, social security and facilities;
  • Termination of employment;
  • Reorganisations.

Social security

Each university has its own regulations and schemes for unemployment, illness and incapacity for work and medical expenses. These agreements have been laid down in separate appendices:

Radboud University has adopted a number of local regulations and schemes in addition to and as an elaboration of the CAO. The local regulations and schemes are an integral part of the CAO-NU and only apply to staff members of Radboud University.
