Participation Act

The Radboud University wants to be an inclusive work organisation where everyone feels at home and appreciated, also people with a distance to the labour market. Together we work on a solution to deploy people’s qualities to the best of their abilities in order to let them positively contribute to the goals of the university. We, as a social organisation, find an inclusive labour market very important. Will you help us?

Meanwhile, there are a lot of people within the university who make huge contributions to our organisation despite having extra support needs. We would like to attract even more people. Would you like to make room within your team for someone with a distance to the labour market, but don't know how?

  • This leaflet (Dutch) will give you more insight into the target group and how you can provide guidance;
  • There are several functions you can think of, check the job book (Dutch).

Jobcoaching

An employee who falls under the “Participatiewet” is entitled to a maximum of 3 years of job coaching. A job coach offers employees, in dialogue with the direct colleagues, extra support in their work. The goal is teaching the employee to function independently within a department, and possibly continue to grow to a sustainable tenure. The employee can choose to make use of an external job coach. This is subsidised by the UWV.

Guidance on the shop floor

Every employee with additional support needs is assigned a buddy, a colleague who provides on-the-job guidance. More than 60 university employees have followed the in-company Harrie help for Buddy's training (Dutch). This training gave them tools to properly guide their new colleague.
