New pension scheme and compensation arrangement

From January 2027, ABP plans to move to new pension rules. Here you can read what the new rules mean for your pension. If you will be working fewer hours in 2026 or if your employment contract is terminated, this may affect any compensation you may be entitled to. Click here for more information.

Pension contribution

Each month, an amount of money will be deducted from your salary that will be used to pay your pension contribution. This contribution goes towards the following types of pension:

  • Old-age pension
  • Survivor’s pension
  • Incapacity for work pension

The university pays 70% of your pension contribution; you pay the remaining 30% yourself.

Here you will find information specific to your pension (in Dutch). You will need your DigiD for this.

You can calculate the amount of pension you have accrued with ABP via MijnABP. You apply for your pension yourself via MijnABP.
