Grants for a stay abroad

There are many opportunities within Radboud University for employees (non-academic and academic, including PhD). For example, scholarships are available for participation in a workshop, summer school or training course, but also when you wish to do research abroad, for job shadowing and for teaching abroad. On this page you will find an overview of all the scholarships you can apply for at Radboud University, depending on your destination, the duration and purpose of your stay.

If you want to know immediately which grant is available for your specific situation, you can use the Staff Mobility Grant Portal.

Erasmus+ grant

The Erasmus+ programme of the European Union provides scholarships for staff in several situations.

Erasmus+ Staff Training grant

This grant is intended for PhD students and staff who want to gain new knowledge and/or insights abroad. This can be done, for example, by participating in a language course, a training course, a summer school, job shadowing, or by conducting research. This grant is meant for PhD students and staff who wish to teach abroad in the form of a lecture, a workshop, or a training course.

Application procedure

You should apply for a grant no later than 2 weeks before the start of your stay abroad. On this page you can find a step-by-step guide of the application procedure.

Alternative funding

In addition to the Erasmus+ grant, there are also several external scholarship programmes to help finance a stay abroad.
