Budget 

The maximum budget for each Research project or Learning & Teaching project is CAD$ 25,000 (approximately €17,000).

Assessment of submitted proposals 

Joint project proposals will be assessed by a selection committee consisting of representatives from both universities, based on the criteria set in the Guidelines. Budget

The maximum budget for each Research and Learning & Teaching project is £20,000. Each successful project will be awarded funding for one year, with the possibility to apply for a second year of funding. 

For each individual short term staff mobility proposal there is a maximum budget of £1,000.

Application and deadline

At the moment, it is not possible to apply for Research and Learning & Teaching proposals. This will be possible again starting 12 January 2026 until 5 March 2026. Applications for short term individual mobility can be submitted any time throughout the year. Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

We've assembled some frequently asked questions (and answers) on the Radboud-Glasgow collaboration fund. 

Only Radboud University’s staff is eligible to apply, in collaboration with one or more partner institutions. It is the responsibility of the applying Radboud University’s staff member(s) to find suitable partner institutions and contact them about this funding opportunity.

You can submit a KA171 application for cooperation with selected non-EU countries, also referred to as Erasmus+ Partner Countries or Third countries not associated to the Programme.
All Erasmus+ Partner Countries classified under Regions 1 to 12 are eligible for funding. An overview of the countries included in these regions can be found here.
Collaboration with institutions in these countries may therefore be supported through a KA171 application. Please note that region 13 and 14 are excluded.

The following types of mobilities may be supported in a KA171 project proposal:

• Student for courses (semester exchange)
• Student for traineeship (also called placement or internship)
• Staff for teaching
• Staff for training (job shadowing, research activities, etc)

If budget is allocated, this budget can be used in the form of a grant for each individual mobility. The grant amount does not cover all costs of the mobility and is merely a financial contribution. The grant does not cover project management or development costs.

The grant amount is based on the type of mobility (staff or student), duration of the mobility, and destination.

*The Distance Calculator of the European Commission is used to determine the exact distance between Nijmegen and the destination.

The project budget becomes available for use after the Erasmus+ agreement between the participating universities is signed (most likely in autumn 2026) and may be used up until 31 July 2029.

The project leader serves as the main point of contact between Radboud University and the partner institution(s) and is also in touch with the Institutional Erasmus+ Coordinator regarding the progression of the project. The Institutional Erasmus+ Coordinator oversees and monitors the progression of the project in close consultation with the project leader.

The project proposal should include the name of the project leader, who will remain the primary contact for both the partner institution(s) and Radboud University throughout the project's duration.

• You will receive feedback on this short proposal by 24 October 2025 at the latest.
• If your short proposal has been accepted, you are invited to write a full proposal. The deadline for submitting the draft version of the full proposal is 16 November 2025.

• The deadline for submitting the final version of the full proposal is 11 January 2026.

If your proposal is successful, the Institutional Erasmus+ Coordinator will notify you of the allocation. Allocation can be expected in July or August 2026.
