International Collaboration Funds

Radboud University has been having strategic partnership agreements with two universities: the University of Western Ontario in Canada and the University of Glasgow in Scotland.

The collaborative funds are available for:

  • Research projects (joint multidisciplinary, cutting-edge)
  • Learning & Teaching projects (innovative teaching practices and initiatives such as dual degrees, jointly taught (virtual) modules etc.)
  • Short-term staff mobility (professional development; exchange of knowledge and experience (e.g. work shadowing); delivering guest lectures; or developing a new collaboration initiative; preparing an external grant funding proposal)

Radboud-Western Collaboration Fund

Radboud University has been collaborating with University of Western Ontario (Western University, London, Canada) for many years. To further boost educational and research collaboration the Radboud-Western Collaboration Fund was established in 2021

Radboud-Glasgow Collaboration Fund

Radboud University signed a strategic partnership agreement with the University of Glasgow in June 2018. With the Radboud-Glasgow Collaboration Fund, the two institutions are jointly investing in opportunities to build on our many existing research and teaching connections. The universities also collaborate on student and staff exchanges.

Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (KA171)

The Erasmus+ KA171 International Credit Mobility Project (formerly KA107) supports project-based mobility for students, PhD candidates, and staff between the EU and selected non-EU countries, referred to as Erasmus+ Partner Countries or Third countries not associated to the Programme. Mobility activities must be carried out in collaboration with institutions that commit to the principles of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE).

KA171 projects are designed to facilitate the mobility of individuals in support of shared initiatives, such as joint projects, the development of new partnerships, strengthening existing collaborations, knowledge exchange, professional development, or balancing exchange in existing mobility windows. Radboud University is engaged in a number of KA171 projects every year, in cooperation with partner institutions around the world. Visit this webpage to view the current projects.

Financial support for cooperation with strategic partners

Given the importance of the academic network, the Executive Board provides financial support to intensify or start up cooperation with a number of our partner universities. These funds can be used to explore opportunities for developing joint educational programmes, organising workshops, expert meetings, PhD exchange programmes, etc.
The support for these kind of activities is based on co-funding only and is directed to the development of cooperation with partners who are of strategic importance to Radboud University.
