Proofpoint

The Radboud University uses the software programme Proofpoint to protect employees, students and the university from virus, spam and phishing attacks.

Personal user overview

If you receive emails that are potentially dangerous, Proofpoint intercepts them. You will then receive an email with a Proofpoint End User Summary. This is a list of the intercepted emails. If it is indeed spam or phishing, please report it. 

Sending emails yourself

If you send an email that scores too high on spam, for example because it contains suspicious links and/or files, it will not be sent and you will receive a notification from Proofpoint.

Changed URLs

Every URL you receive in the email is automatically checked and rewritten by Proofpoint. Because of this, every URL starts with: urldefense.com/v3/

If you receive an email from an unknown sender asking you to share information, be alert. It could be phishing; this is an attempt to defraud by way of a digital scam.
